Measurement Accuracy

The ruler is a convenience tool, and its results are approximate. Accuracy depends on your calibration, your screen, your browser, zoom settings, and how you line up the object. Published screen sizes are often rounded, and browsers don’t always report zoom changes.

Don’t rely on the site where an error could cause harm or loss. That includes medical, safety, legal, engineering, manufacturing, and trade uses, and any other work with tight tolerances. Use a certified measuring instrument for those, and check important measurements with a physical ruler or calipers.

Measuring Against Your Screen

Be gentle when you hold objects against your screen. Sharp, hot, wet, or heavy items can damage it. You’re responsible for any damage to your device and for keeping any card you use for calibration out of sight of others.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Break any law while using the site
• Disrupt the site, or try to gain unauthorized access to it or the systems that host it
• Send automated traffic that puts an unreasonable load on the site
• Copy or republish the site, or present it as your own

Intellectual Property

The site’s content, design, and code belong to us or our licensors, and these terms don’t transfer any ownership to you. Product and company names mentioned on the site, such as those of device makers and software publishers, belong to their owners. Mentioning them doesn’t imply any affiliation or endorsement.
